When we’ve been through a medical event or a health challenge, we can feel scattered and uncertain about our future. Research has proven that developing a full understanding of traumatic or distressing events through writing has immediate, and long lasting, health benefits.

5 Steps:
  1. Review your Journaling Questionnaire.
  2. Discuss your Pathways Welcome Packet responses.
  3. Write a timeline of your medical/health experiences.
  4. Explore flexible journaling techniques and prompts that will help you write your story
  5. Create a visual or written expression of how you envision your life moving forward, filled with a sense of being well whether this is through recovery or while living with chronic illness. Options may include collage, art (drawing, painting, sketching, fabric), fiction, poetry.
